German — Exams & Certification

Goethe Module Minimum (per-section pass)

Why you can score well overall and still fail a Goethe exam — each section has its own pass threshold.

Goethe (and telc) exams are not pass-on-total. Many levels require a minimum within each module — for example a set score in speaking AND a set score across reading, listening and writing. Miss the minimum in one skill and you fail the whole level, even with a strong overall mark.

This is the single most common way well-prepared students lose an exam fee — usually on writing (German) or listening. We pace and mock-test every section to its own threshold, instead of promising an unrealistic fast-track that leaves your weakest skill exposed.
