German — Exams & Certification

TestDaF

A standardised German exam for university admission (Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache), aimed at degree-level study.

TestDaF (Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache) is the German exam most public universities accept as proof of language readiness for German-taught programmes. It is pitched around the B2–C1 range and is taken on fixed dates at approved centres.

If you are heading for a Masters or Bachelors taught in German, TestDaF or DSH is usually the proof you need. For English-taught programmes you often need only A1–B1 German for daily life — we will tell you honestly which applies to your course.
