The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is a standardized language proficiency exam for non-native speakers of Japanese. It assesses and evaluates their ability to understand and use the Japanese language in various contexts. The test is widely recognized and used by educational institutions and employers as a measure of Japanese language proficiency.

Each level of the JLPT focuses on listening, reading, and grammar, and kanji knowledge is essential for higher levels. The JLPT is held twice a year, usually in July and December, at test centers around the world.
