German — Visa & Migration

Approbation

The full medical licence to practise as a doctor in Germany — requires B2 German plus a medical-language exam.

Approbation is the unrestricted licence that lets a doctor practise medicine in Germany. For internationally trained doctors it requires recognition of the medical degree, general German at B2, and a medical-language exam (the Fachsprachprüfung).

It is a high bar and a long road — but a clear one. The language requirement (B2 plus medical German) is fixed and worth planning for early rather than discovering late.

What level / visa it maps to

B2 general German plus the Fachsprachprüfung (medical language exam).

We'll be straight with you about the level and timeline your goal actually needs — then get you there.
