Shall I appear for all the levels of the German exam ? Is it possible to skip any level and save money?

Of course you can skip appearing for exams for all the levels and directly appear for the C2 exam, but this is very extreme, you will need,

  1. To understand the Exam Pattern.
  2. To experience a Goethe exam in person and aspects of it like, what happens during Speaking part, how fast do they play the hearing module audio & how does the writing module feel like!
  3. To keep calm & not panic! Sometimes, we all get cold feet & get so nervous that we forget everything we know, to avoid this go through a simple level to get confidence.

So, lets say if you wish to get a B2 certificate, we would recommend to at least take an A2 or B1 exam just for the experience.

As we know from our students, one doesn’t need to appear for all the German exams. For example, some of the Universities in Germany require level A2 or B1 certification. In that case you can skip A1 exam or A2 exam and directly appear for the levels you really need.

We at LingoThoughts also conduct exams and exam practice, so if you decide on skipping any exam, you can connect with us and we will help you with exam preparation and mock exams as well.

So, please do not walk in Goethe exams without any practice or giving mock exams, this could lead you into trouble.

If you are on a Job search in Germany the minimum language level required is B1.

We have also come across some students asking us if they can directly attend the B1 course and write the exam. The only answer we have is, try writing your 10th Board exams without learning from 1st to 9th class.
