French Language | French Level A1 Course for DELF A1

At A1 level, the learner is introduced to the basics of French, i.e. to be able to comprehend and use basic expressions required in daily situations (like ordering coffee, inviting a friend to a movie). In addition, one learns to ask questions on basic things (like age, nationality, hobbies, interests) as well as answer them. 

It takes around 75 hours to complete this course.

65 hours for overall level training. 

10 hours for exam preparation and practice.

Learning objectives:

Reading: 

1. Learning the basics of reading and comprehension.

2. Understanding short and simple texts and dialogues.

Writing: 

1. Writing about basic topics, such as, profession, hobby, routine and vacation.

2. Being able to write easy formal and informal mails and letters of invitation, application and complaint.

Speaking:

1. Introducing oneself and others.

2. Being able to ask questions and answer them.

3. Learning to discuss basic themes at a primary level.

Listening:

1. Comprehending day to day conversations. 

2. Inculcating the ability to capture words while listening.

3. Habituating oneself to listening to French in its standard accent.

Course Assessment: 

Students’ progress will be assessed on a weekly basis with feedback given in the class. Group discussions and regular assignments is the major source of assessment.
