French Level B1 Course for DELF B1

Level B1 is considered to be like a ‘Breakthrough’ stage, it is the point at which you go through a transition from a beginner to an intermediate learner of the language. You move from basic conversations to complex conversations, from expressing simple ideas to more intricate ones, from using common words to using fancier words.

French Level B1 Course

Recommended number of hours:

  • It takes around 100 hours to complete this course.
  • 90 hours for overall level training. 
  • 10 hours for exam preparation and practice.

Learning objectives:

  • Reading: 
  1. Understanding newspaper and magazine articles on universal topics like science, professional world, environment.
  2. Understanding texts that express personal opinions through mediums like letters, reviews, blogs.
  3. Understanding a larger range of vocabulary used in texts, without actually using a dictionary.  
  • Writing: 
  1. Writing detailed texts about day to day life topics and other universal topics of discussion like environment, technology, professional world, healthcare.
  2. Being able to express one’s ideas through several ways of written expression like essays, letters, blogs and so on.
  3. Writing texts to describe events, places, lifestyle and other topics of personal interest. .
  • Speaking:
  1. Expressing your opinion, perspective or ideas in a coherent and precise manner with justification.
  2. Describing events, movies, literary texts using the appropriate vocabulary. 
  3. Debating and discussing subject matters like environment, education, work, sciences, healthcare, technology.
  • Listening:
  1. Comprehending the crux of native French television programmes and radio shows. 
  2. Inculcating the ability to listen and comprehend audios or videos with longer durations. 
  3. Comprehending complicated discussions and being able to simplify the gist. 

Course Assessment: 

Students’ progress will be assessed on a weekly basis with feedback given in the class. Group discussions and regular assignments is the major source of assessment.
